Netspend Website Redesign
Website Design / Design Systems Development
Overview
The Netspend website redesign started as project with the directive to align the website branding with current branding, with a modern approach to the design. I can’t stress enough how tight the initial timeline was and the incredible team it took to vet the content, copy, etc. This project was truly a labor of love, but also a massive success story. Time spent on the website and increased and bounce rates dramatically decreased.
Old Website
Much of the content on the old website was current and usable, but it lacked proper marketing copywriting. In addition, the design felt overly detailed and outdated.
Photography
My role consisted of exploring photography options as well. The website needed an emphasis on product photography with some lifestyle peppered in to avoid feeling cold and unconnected to the customer. Using UI elements to drive home the digital nature of the Netspend product was also a key strategy.
Design System
In the interest of full transparency, this design system was built out after the site launched, which I will never do again. The redesign was under such a tight timeline that the process for designing involved a quick and dirty design system that got the job done so we could swiftly pass off a library of components to our developers. I then worked with these components to build out each page. I partnered with the AD to complete the foundational components and worked on the final design system post launch as my role morphed to handle more of the website design and processes.
